Niki Sheldrake - Biography

Niki Sheldrake is an Essex-based screenwriter known for high-concept action, comedy and thrillers, who trained in screenwriting and producing at London Metropolitan University. His scripts have been optioned by leading production companies and landed six-figure offers.

 

In 2022 he wrote and produced the micro-budget comedy-horror feature The House That Zombies Built. In 2023 he sold the action-comedy Unloaded Weapon and the black comedy The Debt Inherited to Oceana Studios. The latter was featured on the front page of Variety at Cannes and is set to shoot in 2026 starring Peter Stormare.

 

His action-comedy Unwanted Baggage — developed with Camille Delamarre (Brick Mansions, Transporter Refueled) — is currently being packaged by producer Lavinia Postolache at Lavi Films, along with his big budget action sci-fi script The AI Guy.

Niki Sheldrake is a Southend-on-Sea based screenwriter and producer dedicated to genre filmmaking in action, comedy, horror, and sci-fi. Over the past two decades, he has developed and sold feature scripts, secured high-profile attachments, and brought projects from concept to active production, with a focus on sharp storytelling, character depth, and visual impact. His credits include The Debt Inherited, a black comedy crime thriller now in pre-production with Oceana Studios, starring Peter Stormare and marking the acting debut of Tommy Fury—launched at the Cannes Film Market with a front-cover feature in Variety (2024).

Other projects in development feature collaborations like Unwanted Baggage, an action/comedy developed with director Camille Delamarre (The Transporter Refueled), and The AI Guy, a major sci-fi/action feature currently being packaged by Lavi Star Pictures. He is also writer and executive producer on The House That Zombies Built, an independent horror in post-production featuring cult icons Lloyd Kaufman and Dani Thompson. Additional highlights include Everybody in the Place, a semi-autobiographical 90s rave scene feature he is producing, and Dangerwalker, which reached semi-finalist status in the LA Comedy Scripts Screenplay Competition.

Niki has built strong industry relationships, with commissions and exclusive option agreements. He is passionate about elevating fresh voices in genre cinema and always open to new opportunities—whether script assignments, co-writing, producing partnerships, or development collaborations on indie or mid-budget features.
